I'm happy people without VR sets are able to play this and I'm not hating on the devs for creating this but I dont think the game has the same effect on you without all the VR capabilities. You being in the game, actually controlling Alyx was a big reason for the game to be a good experience.

And honestly? A non-VR version would be 2 hours long. If you already have a PC that will run Alyx's specs (expensive in its own right) I'd check reviews on how HL:A works on an occulus quest 2. If you can get 90% of the game's experience while saving $700 on a headset/controls that seems worth it for a lifelong Half Life fan.
Keeping it simple, I really want to play this game however my Laptop specs are very low. I found a webpage (technical.city) that states I should be able to run it at low settings to a decent frame rate but it seems like a long shot.
